Am 30. September 2026 werde ich 40 Jahre alt. Ich feiere Geburtstage eigentlich nicht, aber ich habe meinen 30ten gefeiert. Also warum nicht meinen 40ten?

Ich würde gerne dich - und ggf. ein plus Eins - einladen, mit mir am Samstag, dem 3. Oktober 2026 in Hamburg den Abend zu verbringen

On September 30th 2026, I'll be turning 40. I usually do not celebrate my birthdays, but since I celebrated my 30th, may as well do my 40th, right?

I would like to invite you - and possibly your plus one - to celebrate with me on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 in Hamburg throughout the evening.

Was ist der Plan

• 17:00 - 21:30 - Käse, Brot, Käsebrot bei LUNCH, Mörkenstraße 10
  Ab 17:00 Uhr serviert Steven in seinem Bistro LUNCH Grilled Cheese, Sandwiches, Mac And Cheese, sowie Bier, Korn, und natürlich alkoholfreie, hausgemachte, Alternativen inklusive Limonade und Eistee.
• 22:00 ff. - Getränke in der Collab Bar, Hein-Hoyer-Str. 63
  Ab 22:00 Uhr (sofern sich genügend Menschen anmelden) gibt es in der Collab Bar auf St. Pauli (ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß von LUNCH) Drinks. Neben einem Special-Drink ist die ganze Karte offen. Das Collab ist bekannt dafür, alkoholfreien Drinks den gleichen Stellenwert zu geben, wie alkoholischen Drinks verschiedener Stärke.

• 17:00 - 21:30 - Cheese, Bread, Käsebrot at LUNCH, Mörkenstraße 10
  From 5pm onwards, Steven is serving grilled cheese, sandwiches, mac and cheese, as well as beer, as well as obviously non-alcoholic, home-made alternatives including lemonade and ice tea, in his excellent bistro LUNCH.
• 22:00 onwards - Drinks at Collab Bar, Hein-Hoyer-Str. 63
  From 10pm (if enough people sign up) there shall be drinks at Collab Bar in St. Pauli (approx. 20m walk from LUNCH). Besides a special drink, the menu is open and available. Collab is known for their excellent non-alcoholic drinks, as well as alcoholic drinks of different strength.

• Wo melde ich mich an?
  Bitte benutze die Anmeldebutton. Du musst dabei ggf. einmal deine E-Mail-Adresse verifizieren, um sicherzustellen dass nur eingeladene Gäste sich anmelden. Wenn du ein Plus-Eins mitbringst, bestelle bitte zwei Tickets und gebe deren Kontaktdaten an.
• Ich kann / will nicht kommen, soll ich Bescheid sagen?
  Ja bitte. Nutze das Formular um dich abzumelden.
• Kann ich Kinder mitbringen?
  Bitte meldet eure Kinder an. LUNCH ist ein Ort an dem auch Kinder sein können, aber kein speziell kinderfreundlicher Ort. Die Umgebung in St. Pauli bietet allerdings viel Auslauf an, und ihr könnt eure Kinder auch fußläufig im Smaland im IKEA abgeben. Es gibt kein Essen was speziell für Kinder ist. Collab ist nicht kindergerecht.
• Wo kann ich schlafen?
  Wir haben keine Schlafplätze. Du kannst bei der Anmeldung ankreuzen, dass du Hilfe bei der Unterkunftssuche benötigst und ich schicke dir weitere Informationen.
• Ich kann doch nicht für Käsebrot und Drinks x Stunden anreisen?
  Das verstehe ich total. Es ist etwas irrational mehr als eine Stunde anzureisen, darum bin ich dir um eine Absage um jeglichen Grund nicht böse. Bitte betrachte die Einladung als persönlichen Wunsch, dich zu sehen, und nicht als Aufforderung, dafür um die Welt zu reisen.
• Kann ich später kommen? Muss ich Essen und Drinks mitmachen?
  Du kannst dir absolut aussuchen, was du magst. Wenn du nur zu LUNCH willst, komm nur zu LUNCH, wenn du nur zu Collab willst, komm nur zu Collab. Komm zu LUNCH um 17:00 Uhr, gehe um 19:00 Uhr, tauche um 23:00 Uhr bei Collab auf. Mir egal. Bitte gib bei der Anmeldung nur an, zu welchen Teilen du kommen willst.
• Gibt es vegetarisches/veganes Essen
  Es wird vegetarisches und veganes Essen geben. Ich kann dir nicht versprechen, dass es Fleisch geben wird.
• Ich trinke keinen Alkohol, passt das?
  Cool. Es gibt an beiden Orten alkoholfreie Getränke, die nicht nur Cola, Wasser oder Fanta sind. An Nicht-Trinker wird genau so gedacht wie an Trinker.
• Was soll ich als Geschenk mitbringen?
  Nichts. Wenn du eine coole Idee hast, bring etwas mit, ich freue mich. Wenn du dich verpflichtet fühlst, aber keine Idee hast, bringe nichts mit. Wenn soziale Normen dich zu einem Geschenk zwingen, freue ich mich, wenn du eine Spende an die Electronic Frontier Foundation, die Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte, die Open Knowledge Foundation (Frag Den Staat) oder den Freiheitsfonds machst.
• Kann ich jemanden mitbringen
  Bringe gerne jemanden mit, der dir lieb ist, wenn du magst - partnerschaft nicht vorausgesetzt. Bitte bringe nur nette Menschen mit. Der Platz ist sehr begrenzt und wir haben eine "First-Come-First-Serve"-Situation. Es gibt keine Erwartung, dass du jemanden mitbringst.
• Kann ich Tiere mitbringen?
  Nein. Außer halt das Tier ist ein Assistenztier.
• Wer kommt noch?
  Wer kommt, können angemeldete Gäste sehen. Eingeladen sind Menschen, die ich aus den letzten 40 Jahren aus der ganzen Welt kenne. Wer kommt, weiß ich nicht.
• Was ist mit Geld?
  Das Abendessen und Getränke bei LUNCH gehen auf mich. Bei Collab gibt es einen Deckel, wenn der leer ist, müsst ihr auf eigene Tasche weitertrinken. Sowohl das LUNCH als auch das Collab werden von wundervollen Menschen geführt. Wenn ihr ein obzönes Trinkgeld geben wollt, kommt das an der richtigen Stelle an.

• Where do I register?
  Please use the registration form at the bottom of this page. You need to confirm your email address, so I can make sure only regisred guests can sign up. If you are brining a plus one, please get two tickets and share their contact information.
• Ich can't / don't want to come, should I tell you?
  Yes please. Use the form below to decline your attendance.
• Can I bring kids? Kann ich Kinder mitbringen?
  Please let me know if you want to bring kids. LUNCH is a place that can also have kids, but not an explicitly child-friendly place. The neighborhood in St. Pauli has many outdoor activities. Furthermore, in walking distance, there's an IKEA where you may drop off your kids at Smaland. There will be no special children food. Collab is not a place for kids.
• Where can I sleep?
  We have no sleeping place. You can, during registration, indicate that you need help with accommodation and I will send you further options.
• With all due respect, but I can't travel x hours and to another continent for grilled cheese and drinks.
  Yeah, I get that. Anything more than an hour seems pretty irrational to me as well - so no hard feelings for declining for whatever reason. Please see this invitation as a personal appreciation, and not as a formal request to travel the world.
• Can I come later? Do I have to do drinks AND food?
  You are free to do whatever you want. If you just want to join for dinner at LUNCH, just do that. If you just want to do Collab, have at it. Do you want to show up at LUNCH for 5pm, leave at 7pm and then show up at 11pm at Collab - I do not care. However, please indicate during registration, which parts you would like to join eventually.
• Will there be vegetarian / vegan food?
  Yes, there will be vegetarian or vegan food. At this point, I cannot promise there will be meat, though.
• I don't drink alcohol - is that okay?
  Great. At both venues there will be non-alcoholic options that are not just Coke, Sprite or water. As a non-drinker you'll be accommodated for as much as a drinker.
• What should I bring as a gift?
  Nothing. If you have a cool idea, I'll look forward to it. If you feel obliged but have no idea, bring nothing. If you can't not bring something for social norms, I'd love you to make a donation to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte, the Open Knowledge Foundation (Frag Den Staat) or the Freiheitsfonds.
• Can I bring someone?
  Bring someone you love if you want to - doesn't have to be your partner. Just bring nice people. The space is very limited and this is a first-come-first-serve situation. I don't expect you to bring anyone.
• Can I bring pets?
  Nope. Unless it's an assistive animal.
• Who else is coming?
  You'll see who's coming once you've signed up. People from the last 40 years from all over the world are invited. At the time of writing, I have no clue who'll be coming.
• What's the money situation?
  Dinner at LUNCH is on me. At Collab, we'll have a tab - once that's used up, you'll be paying out of pocket. Both LUNCH and Collab are run by wonderful folks. If you'd like to give an obscene tip, it'll land with good people.
